A glorious Spring day. Or is it??

Now there’s a question. It all depends on who you ask. The Met Office reckons that Spring starts on the 1st of March, but historically it’s been considered to be the Vernal Equinox, March 20th this year. So who’s right?
Who cares, it was a lovely day whatever the season!SAM_8509

Yesterday was a bit damp and gloomy, but it gave me a chance to get the roof scrubbed off. You can’t do it when it’s warm and sunny, much as you’d prefer to, because the mucky water dries before you get to rinse off.

Clean roof as we pass under the disused railway bridge near Bosworth Field.SAM_8503
This carried the line from Moira Junction to Nuneaton, part of which is now The Battlefield Line.

The roof was scuffed and mucky from carrying logs. There’s not much chance of collecting more now.

Just good friends…

It started out wet, but by the time we were ready to go we were having good spells of sunshine. A pity about the brisk westerly, without that it would have been quite warm, shorts weather in fact!

It’s all go at Market Bosworth as the new marina starts to take shape…SAM_8514

The 150-berth marina is due to open later this year.

The work on the entrance has temporarily closed the moorings and water point on Bosworth Wharf.

We pulled in just short of Shackerstone, 4 miles from the terminus. We’ll do the last bit tomorrow morning.
