Far enough…

We got up to one of those typical autumn mornings. A mist over the water, everything still, damp and gloomy.

Nature had been busy overnight, though.

This one’s a Shaggy Ink Cap (Coprinus Comatus)SAM_0004

And this one might be a Parasol Mushroom (Macrolepiota Procera)SAM_0015
Both are apparently edible if cooked….. but I don’t think I’d want to chance it.

The spiders were busy too…SAM_0016 Webby

I picked up some essentials from the Co-op, then we pushed across to the services before setting off.
Someone’s expecting some snow and ice.

We pulled up just past Bridge 24a, our original destination for yesterday.

Moored near 24aSAM_0020 Nr 24a

It’s quieter here, further away from the railway, less people on the towpath, and less mud, too. It’s a shame that the towpath in Willington is so poor. The village is a popular stop, and now a considerable length is given over to winter moorings it’s condition will only get worse.
